Johnson & Quin Achieves FSC Certification

FSC Certification Adds to Company’s Ongoing Sustainable Business Practices

Niles, IL—November 13, 2008—Johnson & Quin, a national leader in targeted full service direct mail printing and production services, today announced it has achieved the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. Certification with the FSC recognizes Johnson & Quin's ability to meet environmental responsibility standards set by the organization for managing business operations while reducing pressures on, and promoting the restoration and preservation of, natural forests. Because Johnson & Quin is chain-of-custody certified, the company has permission to use the FSC label and trademarks on all materials accepted by the FSC. Johnson & Quin can now offer clients the option of selecting from a range of FSC-certified papers to minimize the environmental impact and promote renewability.

In addition to this program, Johnson & Quin has initiated other sustainability business practices throughout the company, including upgrading its plant with greener equipment processes, implementing policies to keep its in-office environment equally green, and forging partnerships with eco-friendly suppliers.

"Johnson & Quin is proud to achieve this very respected certification," said David Henkel, president of Johnson & Quin. "As a company, we are dedicated to taking special care of our clients' direct mail printing and production needs and the planet. This means our customers can rely on us to deliver direct mail campaigns that have maximum impact on their target markets and minimum impact on the environment."

The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent, not-for-profit organization that promotes the responsible management of the world’s working forests through the development of regional standards, a voluntary certification system, and trademarks that provide recognition and value to products bearing the FSC label in the marketplace. To date, FSC standards have been applied to more than 170 million acres of actively managed forests in more than 60 countries, with those numbers growing steadily.
